IIRC the drum machine instruments are very clearly and simply written and show how to make a polyphonic instrument, should be a great starting point for other madness.

a few weeks ago I opened tutorial 1, it has a bunch of very basic audio and midi effects. I left Live open all week and that's all I did all week after work, play with those presets, I never got to tutorial 2.
