How assigning a MIDI message to the space bar

you could consider another keyboard. as in, get another keyboard (free to $1) and mod it so that you have a foot pedal activating it's space bar

not sure how live acts if you have two keyboards attached??

^ if they match and are USB, it might work. Otherwise, the OS might not play along.

yeah, you'd have to try it. i don't see why it wouldn't work though. i've had multiple mice on several occasions. one on each side of the keyboard, or a mouse plus a trackball... etc.
