'Dead Man's Shoes' from Shane Meadows on Warp Films ... brilliant

(actually, anything from Shane Meadows is pretty wicked)

"audition" looks very disturbing. not seen it yet.
Audition is a great and totally twisted movie.
Takashi Miike is one of my favorite directors, I'd recommend all of his films.

The prestige...

Oh! and a plus one for Network.
On a similar note i watched Three days of the condor the other night.
The final scene makes lots of observations that still make sense when you look at todays news.
Not quite on the same scale as Network, but still pretty cool from 1975.

+1 One of my absolute faves from recent years.

If you really want to watch a disturbing movie, Heneke's "Funny Games" should do it. Either version.

If you want disturbing :

almost anything by Michael Haneke, with 'Funny Games' as one of the cruelest ever. ( I only saw the original version...).

oh, and there is 'Irreversible' of course....

Those movies are like a punch in the stomach....

Dances With Wolves. The 4 hour directors cut is especially moving.

Crash (not the Kronenberg flick from 1996, but the Paul Haggis movie from 2004)
Baise-moi (aka Rape Me or Fuck Me)

If you're into musicals, like I am, Chicago and Moulin Rouge are ace!

Mulholland drive,

Moon,

No country for old men,

Repulsion,

Duel (the first spielberg, really great suspense movie. One of the best.)

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Delicatessen (for the style!!)

... I saw a lot of great film but as I erase them after watching, nothing pop to mind right now...
