Sure, but as Dieter Döpfer wrote: Do not underestimate the time you'll spend! And I'd like to add: the money! Getting nice pots, etc.. is not cheap. On the other side i could clearly see how such a beast in combination with control voltages from a soundcard could be a very cool experimental synth :-)

One of the rumors is that Behringer and Roland have teamed up on a controller with a vsynth integrated.

that is an excellent rumor!

let me take a stab at this... Ableton have completely re-written Live from the ground up... in the 2 weeks since Gerhard made that post.

too far-fetched???

ok, i'll try again!

Akai is working on another controller to satisfy the knob fetish that most of us have. can never get enough knob apparentely.

NI will announce an integrated keyboard for Kore in partnership with CME. they are also working on a dj controller that merges a newly developed Audio 16 interface with the features of the new traktor controller and traditional dj mixer capabilities to compete with the xone 3d, 4d, dx and numark ds7.

Universal Audio will announce new partnerships with every high-end signal processor company that they haven't yet. they also have virtual instruments in the works including synths modeling the Alesis Andromeda and the Moog Voyager and Little Phatty.

^ that would actually make some sense, but i think you would still need the usb and editor capability.
