Such an interesting topic to me. I've been listening to it for about three years now, but only started going to shows this past year and there is clearly no specific style that I'm seeing everywhere. I've been to shows in LA, SF and NYC and to be honest, the only thing that was universal was a mosh pit starting at some point in the night! I know alot of people hate that, but I'm 30 yrs. old and totally used to pit at raves to gabber, terrorcore, hardcore etc.. and I totally understand it, so it doesn't bother . I love pits, just can't stand the crappy kids that wait to push you when your back is turned.

I personally favor more of a hip hop/breaks influenced style for dancing to dubstep, mixing in a double-time kind of 'bounce' along the way. if you can dance, Dubstep is awesome because your body tends to fill in the gaps depending on the vibe of the song. I tend to prefer my dubstep grimier vs. dub, but a great rinse out track with a good female vocal always seems to work for me when mixed right too.

My one pet peeve in LA is that there seems to be an Asian-hipster collective that REALLY wants to put the 'step' in Dubstep. It's a weird hopping around style that's not on beat and kind of starts to look like riverdance after awhile with little foot kick outs and everything. Not sure what kills me more, those kids or the ones so fucked up that they can't see straight.

Anyone I've seen dancing to dubstep looked high enough to be dancing to the sounds of plants dying.

Funny how kids try to take a broke step, and step to it.

As much as I like "some" Dubstep, I think they'd be better off putting couches on the floor and serving heroin and mushrooms.

Not sure if it's a pro or con for pot if it makes you think you can dance to something cuz it sounds cool.

I say CON.

Yeah it's quite cool and with the comparison to old school break dancing battles, this style looks like they could literally kick your ass with the moves and also it's got be quite the tension release.

It's called krumping (not to be confused with krunk). You could probably do a youtube search for that. Lil C, one of the dancers in that video, is pretty famous for it so you could probably do a search for him too. Can't youtube at work but I remember if you let this youtube vid play through there's some recommended videos and one was "Lil C vs ...(don't remember who)" that was pretty good as well.
