Do you dance to music?

My wife & I go out to hear our favorite band, who play 60s rock n'roll covers. And, we spend 3-4 hours on the dance floor. Occasionally, I'm onstage with the band.

Of course I dance, and of course only when I really like the groove of the music, whatever genre it can be (metal, electro, rock, reggae, jazz, even fucked up mainstream "pop" music!)

But I have to admit that a little boose helps me greatly, getting older on the dancefloor sometimes ashames me a bit...

extasy times are a loong time before now for me, so I can't dance on everything during all night

oh hell yea I dance! If I'm grooving to the music of course...I love that 4-on-tha-floor...not so much with breaks or DnB. 120 bpm is about the lower range of what can get me moving....all the way up to 160 bpm with the hardcore psytrance like Psykovsky. Mmmmm I love dancing!!!

I feel really much more groove in the 120-130 BPM range than everything else (apart a 80BPM beat filled with syncopes and 8th notes that give it a much quicker vibe)

(guess what, I began composing with crappy 180 BPM techno rave music...!!! )

I blame rnd for grinding, though maybe I'm just jealous that I can't grind without feeling stupid.

I blame ket for the general shortage of quality dancing in clubs these days.

I don't "go out dancing" anymore, but when I'm out, I dance.
I'm a huge stupid moves kinda guy , like a lindyhopper on PCP, rather than a dance conformist.
I know I look fucking insane out there, but if I'm ever out with professional dancers they get weirdly interested. Like anthropologists discovering a lost tribe who only eat nose hair.

But anyway, it's indeed strange to imagine all of you dancing like K-heads

In the opposite, the problem is often that electro composers are so proud of themselves and autosufficients that they can't even imagine moving their body on someone else's music... fuck these guys, we're humans, and moving on music is human. Not moving on good music is the problem.

Define dance. If you consider moshing, slamming, jumping and bouncing 4 nights a week in the clubs for 20 odd years dancing, then Yes.

I live for the music and my body leads. Do I have any moves? Only the ones most people would leave at home or consider some type of seizure and require medication.

well me too, but I guess the OP was about dancing as beeing part of the audience?

it's harder for sufficient composers to dance among the audience than to dance in the booth while playing or djing...

Hehehe...I remember when I had my "break-through" dancing...it was my first electronic music party.....Terry Mullen in Austin, TX....on a pretty good amount of liquid. I could not stand the constant 4-to-the-floor....that feeling built up until about 2 in the am when I really felt I would just have to leave. But then I'd be stuck wandering around downtown Austin in the middle of night with a head full of acid...not a good idea.

I remember leaning against this metal pole when I noticed I could hear the music reverbrating inside the pole and I started pushing my head against the pole rhythmically to the music to make like a flanging effect. I got a big smile and just started moving! By 4 am I was tearing it up on the floor experiencing freedom like never before, while most other people are winding down and looking at me like "damn, I guess he got the the good stuff!". By 6am security was trying to push us out and I was just dancing in circle around them pushing THEM out with positivity. They let us stay till 7:30 and by then I had come down sufficiently to want to leave anyway. So off to the afterparty.....

It's been dancing ever since!
