No they don't... although I was speaking with the person with the cracked V8 last night at a party for quite sometime about using Live. I did not make a fuss about getting a legit copy. Interesting though that he got the cracked full version only after mucking around with the Lite version that came with his audio interface. He is a bass player and uses Live to sketch out basic ideas for the other band members. I helped him sort out his latency issues and just chatted about each others work flow. He gave me no real reason for justifying his copy, but as he has his own business as an IT trouble shooter I presume he knows his way around the net and knows how to get what he wants.

He who is without sin throw the first stone. If you have EVER copied a CD, DVD, VHS, borrowed a book & read it or whatever, you have taken away earnings from an author of intellectual property. You have done it, I have done it, and every last employee at Ableton has done it too. Let's get real.

Having said that, I don't have a problem giving Ableton my money, they are serious about making a good product and they are very far ahead of the rest with fresh ideas. Plus they seem to be cool people.

+1 it is a bit of a difference just mucking around with something to see how it works with a view to maybe buying if it works your mojo, as opposed to using it for commercial gain.

Makes me laugh on how all these kids have got 'dope beetz' for sale when it's obvious it's a bunch of fruity loops presets thrown together with poor mixing (esp. bass end), clipping everywhere, volume maximized to shit and they are trying to sell this crap on the web and all this from a 'free' download.

I actually closed an account I had on soundclick because of continual spamming from this type of person.

SubFunk was also right when he said a lot of people only stumped up the dough when their AiR version timebombed, and no longer worked. Better late than never I suppose.

what do crackers like AiR have to gain from putting out these cracks?

started with a crack to see if it was worth it...then got it. May upgrade to the one with Serrato but I'm hearing that the later versions may be better because of the bugs they are working out. I just want a dj to work in seamlessly.

in the long run you are allways better of with legal versions or you spend half of your live running after the actual hack for your actual os... and even worse..checking all theese hundrets and hundrest of plugs...
by the risk i missed something.. i rather play with toys i own and where skills earned help in the future...beside..you usualy achive more when concentrating on a few things than knowing a bit about everything...

However..hacks are the better demos because they have all features and you can safe your work..never would touch a safe disabled demo.. some companys even dont do demos.. or you need strange dongels for which are never free ports or even better the break of a part of your mainboard by accident... i own logic and have the old dongel.. But i actually was so happy about the dongel emulator back than..allways used a hack when beeing on road to dont loose the damn dongel... logic was pretty expensiv back than..

The Hacker scene anyway wont stop to exsist.. But its important that the
people think about buying the ofiical version when they liked the "demo" or even made a profit with it. Otherwise there is nothing to hack anymore

Maybe sometimes people need to be reminded that a profit is allready that you are on a weblabel or play little gigs wher no big money is around..its allready profit for your name..and when that point is reached you might consider buying your tools and have professional service and update for them.

when i see the reaper strategy about price ..maybe its THE thing to do to slow , to stop a bit hacking .. im thinking a bout donation and advertisement too..but the latter solution..euh.. for ableton i dont know héhé

I paid, and my Live 8 Suite isn't limited.
