The one thing that CM has been guilty of in some of these tutorials, is that they don't point out enough that there is no 'easy button' and kind of make it seem that if you apply the settings they give you it will work for every mix, which is obviously not the case at all. If it was that easy then there would be no pro mixers, pro mixing courses and we could all just set up a couple of presets and have amazing sound every time. If only ....


I agree with SF that in my limited experience of CM, they do sometimes miss important information and especially don't point out enough that you are going to have to do a lot of listening work and groundwork yourself before applying EQ, compression, etc, instead they have sometimes given you one static example with the pictures and make it sound like you can 'mix like a pro' by following that example, which some people think they can just copy every time.
