Yep. It works fine. You can pretty much get Ableton to "learn" anything the FCB sends to it to set up mappings for ease. I'm a bit more careful though as I use mine to control my guitar amp too. Some FCB1010 banks I use for guitar patch changes only, some banks have some guitar patch sends but a scene select button or two so I can bring in ableton song parts or trigger something. I've got MIDI merge on so some songs I have ableton switch my amp.
Just like my signature says...

can someone quickly describe how to #1 set the fcb1010 global channel to another number and #2 set switches 1-10 to be able to toggle fx in live on/off.
I've done a lot of searching, but I everything I find is either about setting it up to loop or like the HUGE write up in this thread.. it is TONS of info and I got a headache before I even got to anything I needed
thanks

Not at all. LSZ is 47 and Tone Deft is well into his 60s.

Global midi channel. Hold the down pedal and turn FCB on. Use the up pedal to select midi channel and then use the pedals to select the midi channel you want. Hold the down pedal to save and come out of global.
With unit on, press and hold down pedal til flashing lights occur. Then select pedal one. This is the pedal you will now edit. You should find that three pedals are lit. The first one is program change pedal 1, I think. Press and hold it til it goes out. Now press pedal 10, which is midi note. The other two can stay on as they relate to the exp pedals. Now you get to select the midi note number you want to assign to this pedal, as you are in bank 00 and pedal 1, start at 01. Now press and hold down to come out of config mode. Now when you press pedal 1 in bank 00 it will send midi note 01.
Repeat for all pedals, all banks.
I have to say though, for those wanting FCB Live control, APC40 emulation, then search for that thread here. Awesome template. Easy sysex dump.

only $249 ???
it looks well made, but $249 is a lot of dough for what is essentially a 9 button switch box...
