Kontakt 4...I'm imported all Fantom X, XV5080, Motif XS, Korg M3, and Triton sounds to NKI format. No more need for multiple keyboards and racks. They all fit into my MacBook Pro on a dedicated 500GB drive.

Omnisphere (w/ Trillian sounds) and Waldorf Largo. I'd really like to get Zebra though because I'm really impressed by ACE and the ZebraCM freeware version. I've barely used Alchemy, don't like the filters, should experiment with it though cos you can use your own audio and it has granular.

+1 on Arturia & Operator for sure. Operator is a nice FM synth.
Corpus is cool but kinda CPU intensive.

Albino 3 for me.

I find it's the easiest synth for me to program my own sounds. It sounds a little thinner than most imo which actually works out perfectly as I have a Virus TI to provide all the beefy sounds, Albino just fills in the gaps.

My staple of diet. Really tho all the synths sound the same as you can just import the wavetables into just about any thing nowadays

That's awesome man. How did you get the Fantom and Motif libraries into NKI format? Does kontakt read them or did you have to do something fancy? how do they appear in kontakt?

+1....totally the same here. I love that thing, and think it's quite under-rated. I actually prefer it to Massive as far as big-gun wavetable synths with lots of modulation options go (step sequencing ftw!), sound-quality wise rapture is richer and less cold/digital to my ears, though Massive I guess is slightly more flexible modulation wise and manages to fit more on one screen...but yeah. Love Rapture.

Not all synths sound the same - for starters physically modelled synths such as the AAS synths and Arturia's TAE analog modelling, which is designed for maximum reduction of aliasing and maximum accuracy of the original vintage analogues they model. These don't employ wavetables.

Eh??? wow i really don't agree...playing NI synths vs. G-force synths, just as one example, they have totally a different character to them. and uh, most synth aren't wavetable synths, so I'm not sure i get you there....

I got massive a bit less than a year ago (and because finances have been tight not been able to afford anything else), I'm using it for pretty much everything. Obviously it's great for big basses and leads, but being able to use the macros to control multiple parameters makes it great for evolving pads.

Being limited to just one synth has been pretty liberating and has got me to really understand it!
