Cool, thanks for that 3dot.
Re: windows 7 and live 8.1.1 ?
win7 64 and live have been working nicely here too...
Re: windows 7 and live 8.1.1 ?
Win7 64bit actually consumes less CPU than 32bit Vista for me and everything that works in Vista has worked in Win7. Of course it also makes use of all 4GB of ram.
I also just realized last night that I can play .mov files in Media Player and I don't even have quicktime installed. I'm guessing it's because it's a high resolution h.264 file and not a plain old quicktime file so I might need to install it someday if I stumble upon a .mov I can't play.

He switched back to XP because of having too many problems with Win7.H20nly wrote:^ I think nebulae uses an RME and he was raving about Win 7 a couple of months ago...
I've been using Win7 32-bit with Live 8 since the Win7 release. I had a few problems at first because Presonus did not have Win7 drivers for Firebox, but that is all cleared up now and working excellent. I also had some problems getting older plugins to work, but getting Win7 versions also fixed that up.
Win 7 is a huge step up from XP, so I highly recommend it if there are Win7 drivers/plugins for all critical needs.
Re: windows 7 and live 8.1.1 ?
i recently switched from Windowx XP (32bit) to Windows 7 (64bit) and can now enjoy more performance in my sets
just had some problems getting the m-audio audiophile 64 bit driver working - after a reinstall the problems are gone
also had to set live 8 into the vista-compatible mode
yes, there are some live 8 issues, but since ive never lost any of my work, its fine with me.

Why? because its 64 bit?martelo wrote:also had to set live 8 into the vista-compatible mode
Everything I've thrown at Win 7 (32 bit) so far has just installed like it knew about Win 7 ahead of time... including Live. Its been nice.
