Not to be a PITA but 'have' instead of has and the letter a couple of typo's.What happens to the recordings ?...
Everyone who makes a recording should choose what happens with their sample under the creative commons act - see http://creativecommons.org/about/licenses/
I'm trying to keep this as chilled as possible, without getting into the realm of copyrights, contracts etc etc - personally if someone wants to use a sample or recording that I've made within this project then fine, do what you want with it. The question which i know is going to crop up here is "what if someone uses a sample that I (meaning me) has made in a song and gets rich from it?"
Well personally I could nt give a rats ass. If that person wants to be honest and give me some of the money then fine. If they want to claim it as their own, then that's their karma or whatever you want to call it. After quite a few years of travelling I've come to value other experiences over money. I'm doing this cos I want an adventure not so I can get caught up in some legal battle about who "owns" what sound etc.
Saying that , i would nt want to see this happen to someone else if it is something that they care about. So please choose wisely when it comes to which license you want on your sample, recording or composition.
... but in a nutshell, the people making the tracks will have access to whatever samples they like (licensing permitting) to make their own compositions with. They can do what they want with the finished track - be it give it away or sell it as a download, include it on their album etc etc . I am going to encourage everyone who makes a track from the samples to at least give a free download/album etc to the people who have contributed a recording to the track.
