Hi
Yes Neb, you were right. Thats why the product been reduced and removed - piss poor customer
service means they proberly are going out of business and just thought they could sink a few people with them...
Anyway as luck would have it, I have had contact with people you already own the video and they are all willing to
give me a copy. Shame though, you can see why people use torrents, cracks etc. Thanks for nothing Streamworks and you can keep my 1.99, hope you get a coffee with it and it chokes you or you spill it on your new top.

Hmmm..I just watched the sample movie. The episode about plugins and I have to say it was incredibly poor. the narrator talks far too slowly with really annoying pauses plus his teaching method is really not that interesting. I know L8 really well but was hoping that maybe his method would be inspiring and show me a new way to use this undeniably flexible software. However after dedicating 9 minutes of my life to that demo I think I'd rather eat a bowl of someone else's sick than watch the whole video!
Perhaps that is why they discontinued it, because it is rubbish!

^ a bit harsh, but I have to admit, its a little dry.
I haven't watched the whole thing though. I did notice that it was pixelated on my laptop. I stopped about 9 or 10 minutes into it as well. I remember thinking to myself I wish this had a table of contents so that I'd have a way of knowing what I don't want to watch again... I plan on giving it the full go... who knows??? maybe its got some real gems in there. I'd say definitely don't watch it after smoking a bowl... there's too much air in the dialogue for your mind not to wander..

The thing here is that there are a myriad of instructional and training courses for Live and other sequencers, some which represent value and have educational merit and many which don't. There have been other videos promoted here which also looked like poor value to my eyes and were trading for upwards of 30 dollars in some cases.
I'm not laying any approval or disapproval on this particular vid as I haven't seen it and cannot even afford the $2.00 to buy it - but I remember that there was an excerpt clip of this video posted when it was advertised at full price and there always should be, even for 2 bucks, a way to pre-evaluate it prior to purchase.
For 2 dollars, crying about it just seems like whining - if the video is poor and you had paid the full price, there may be more reason to voice dissatisfaction without sounding whiny. People should still do their research even if only dropping 2 bucks, otherwise, and then maybe steered clear of it. I mean, you lost 2 bucks if it's poor - less than a cost of a pint of beer for most people...that 2 dollars 'lost' could be a good life lesson to some...

For me, the supplied Ableton tutes are excellent for getting you going, so I have no idea why anyone would wish to spend a penny on something which isn't as good.
However, I would really like to take my knowledge of the program up a few steps, though in all honesty, I actually enjoy learning most by trial and error, which has actually led me down some interesting paths.
Saying that, if anyone thinks they have something new to show the community, by all means, put together a tutorial and i'll think about buying it.

I have it. I usually prefer the videos from groove3. My major complaint about the SWA video is that it uses that Adobe Air crap. I have a separate drive for videos. Air just installs the video, adding a gig to your OS drive, doesn't give you a choice.
Sony does the best tutorial videos for their products. They have the projects for you to load.
