I have a Belkin 7 Port that's worked well for midi controllers + audio interface.
Do a search, there has been a few threads about this w/ excellent suggestions.
Agreed, that is what I am using now for the APC40, LPK25, LPD8 and Remote SL49 Compact. Definitely powered. I connect a mouse and external backup drive directly to the laptop.

As another user suggested - I've used Belkin 7 port POWERED USB hubs for... well... since they started making them.
I have all 7 ports filled with keyboards, controllers, flash drives, external HDD's and the like.
NEVER had a single issue with this hub. Loved it so much I only use Belkin now for all of my stuff. D-Link makes another good HUB my partner uses (7 amnd powered). He even runs his audio I/O through the hub, as well without issues.
We go crazy with peripherals that have blinking lights because LED's are awesome!
No issues.
We have tried other "off brand" hubs that are powered as well with nothing BUT issues.
But Belkin and D-Link have never failed us yet.

I have a MacBook Pro with 2 usb ports.
My NI AK1 goes in one port.
This Belkin powered USB hub is plugged into the other one. Into that I have an APC 40, SL25 MK1, external HD, Maschine and Kore 2. Never had a problem.

I use a Lindy 7 ports USB HUB, it has an independant power supply.
Connected to macbook, I have the 7 ports all in action on the hub, with midi controllers:
vestax VCI100
korg padkontrol (+ faderfow lv2 connected to its midi ports)
NI MASCHINE
Edirol um550 midi patchbay
Novation nocturn
apple keyboard with usb mouse connected to one of its usb ports
ipod usb connection
Never had a single transmission problem.
just the hub died once, then thomann replaced it for free.
it costs around 30 boxes.
Cheers

At the moment my keyboard controller (MK61) and APC40 are sharing a port via a Targus USB hub (non powered)
http://www.targus.com/us/product_detail ... ku=ACH76US
not ideal i know but havent experienced any problems with it so far although i wouldnt want to be plugging anything else into the remaining two slots on the hub.
I'm a firm believer in 'if it aint broke dont fix it'.

I've read the threads.
But the problem still persists.
Using self-powered 7 port USB hub.
SL MKII and LaunchPads are powered up.
But Signals seems to be lost! (Not connected to softwares > Automap & Ableton Live)
Anyone with the solutions?
