@machine
yes the python version in osx 10.6 is 2.6, live needs 2.5.1 :)

You need to download the touchosc editor from: http://hexler.net/software/touchosc

Load up LiveControl.touchosc from the zip file in the editor, then hit sync. On your ipod click layout > add. Your computer should appear in the list and it should sync the template to your ipod

ST8, thanks so much for your help. :D

TouchOSC Question: How do you have your options set in Touchosc(Stay connected/Accelerometer/Double-tap lock etc.)?

i just use the default touchosc settings.

Ok ive fixed a few bugs and added the ipad template. If anyone with an ipad wants to test this out please let me know how it goes. You need to toggle ipad = 1 in the config file to enable the full ipad support. The template can be found here in the zip file as LiveControl_iPad.touchosc

Is this updated version also for touch/phone? If so, change Layout Size in the Editor to iphone/touch?

Thanks

Thanks for that. Much appreciated.

I'm having trouble with the 'sequencer' in your template. Could you provide a brief explanation/tutorial?

Is it correct to hold done the 'menu 2' at the bottom to tap in notes as well as navigate around the clips using the l/r/u/d buttons above the Menu 2 button? If i don't hold down Menu 2 the purple buttons are not functional.

Also, the Zoom+ and Zoom- seem to not function at all, whether or not Menu2 is held down.

Sorry i should have explained how that works. Select the sequencer, then hold down menu 2 and use up down left right to select a midi clip. Let go of menu 2 then it should load the contents of the clip into the sequencer. Then you should be able to enter notes. Press play and it should follow the play head.

Just wanted to say thanks ST8 for creating this. It's so awesome that it has the red box to show you where you are just like Launchpad/APC. And even the ability to reset volume panning etc to default settings which was my favorite feature of Launchpad. And all that without even needing OSCulator. Can't wait to try it out!

Why not use the Ipad better graphic to produce a better GUI, why the need to be a Lemur clone with that cartoon graphics?
Korg showed what the Ipad's graphics is capable of.

I also think the interface design could be improved a little but I guess that's why it's a beta. The first priority should be the functionality though.
I actually quite like the TouchOSC's default design which is aesthetically pleasing to my eyes:

My suggestion would be to at least add a border with rounded corners around the clips in the Clip Launcher.
Does this currently support clip names like the TouchOSC/Python project? How about clip colors?
Or at least some kind of visual feedback of playing/recording/stopped clips like Launchpad?

Better yet,why not get a full set of Kolinsky Red Sable brushes(sizes 000 to 30) and the complete palette of Old Hollands finest oils and hand paint the GUI. You could then scan this and convert it to a digital format....

Oh the gratefulness.

I'm just building on TouchOSC at the moment, if someone makes a better gui i can make use of it, but for now its just about functionality

There are borders around the clips when you load the template onto the ipod/ipad. Its just the screenshots of the editor are a bit low on the contrast. Also yes there are clip names and feedback on currently playing clips etc, all the pages have full feedback from ableton. I'll try and post a video of this working so you can see how everything works.

ST8, a video would be so much appreciated.

I've been having fun with the X/Y pad mapped to some macros. It seems like currently you can assign up to five parameters for each x and y axis for you to choose from.

I'm still not fully getting/understanding the sequencer; I seem to stumble my way through it. It seems the Zoom+/- don't do anything. Is there a single button to clear/subtract notes. Also, what does activating the the light blue buttons in the blue outlined bar/measure count at the top do?

Many questions, but still having fun. :)

That is soooo sick! Did I see that right where you can zoom in and out of the step sequencer to get more step resolution?

Oh, and the GUI looks much better on the video than the screenshots from your first post.
