another thing about the arrangement is that you can create locators, which are MIDI mappable.

so in the arrange, you can have all your songs as a part of a "long song" but also be able to jump around to different positions at will, at the push of a button


also, don't accuse me of not reading your posts or not thinking about your situation. it was you who said

I just want to hit play once a set and not have to mess with it until the next set.

actually i have spent a significant amount of time thinking about your thread, and yet i have seen no evidence that you have tried any of these suggestions

also also, you came in here talking about "next" follow actions, which doesn't in any way suggest that you want to skip around triggering random scenes at will!!

Basically you have a few options.. Trigger the scenes manually, like you've been doing. Use arrangement view, copy/paste/cut and swap things around when you need to make a different set list (not the easiest thing in the world, would be a lot easier to drag scenes around) or hop on the bus with the rest of us wanting "follow scenes" or whatever you want to call it.

if you made dummy clips which represented song launches, you could re-arrange those easily, based on a new set list. all it comes down to is a midi clip of a certain duration, with a note that triggers the session scene.

just tested this, it works well.

Ah, but there is ALWAYS a solution. Sorry, I'm an electrical engineer and software programmer so I believe EVERYTHING can be solved. I know, huge downfall of mine, but hey!?!

I just got off a long call with tech support in Berlin and I believe we have a solution. MIDI track - dummy clip - map note to next scene. Place the note at the position I would normally press the next button on the launchpad. The tech is going to work on the details and send me something Monday. I'll post what we find so everyone else can use it too.

I had to solve the same problem. I did exactly this way (mapping a CC or note from a dummy midi clip to trigger the next scene) but I was not able to do it without midi yoke.

I'm wondering if it is possible to do it without using midi yoke?

seems like you figured everything out but the warping tempos between song 1 and 2 (or row 1 and 2)... get a wireless keyboard numpad and place that on your instrument.... when the time comes to change to a new song, trigger a key on your numpad to:

1.switch to the next set of clips
2.change the tempo of the next set of clips to a predefined tempo (using autohotkey to enter the new tempo#)

you could use a bridge of jamming to seamlessly transition between sets so it doesn't sound weird... or you can go with the weird sounding transition and use it to your advantage..
