In at3, load a preset, click midi, preset, and set the value in the "Program Change" box to whatever PC# your controller is sending. Save the preset, done! Repeat for other presets with different PC#'s. To step thru presets, you use the "Global" midi window and assign cc#'s for Next and Pevious. However, this will step thru the presets only in the category that you're currently in (for instance - /amplitube 3/amps/american vintage B/). There's a way to change categories by midi in Guitar Rig, but I haven't figured out how to do it in at3 yet.
I've tried that (and thank you, anyway). Nothing happened. Ableton seems to ignore the PC messages incoming. When Amplitube is running standalone it's ok, Ableton = nop.

Something's not setup right, 'cause it works for me. Try this:

In Ableton, on your MIDI track, make sure you've got your Source/Channel settings correct.
In the "Monitor" section of the MIDI track, make sure that "In" is ON, "Auto" is OFF.
Make sure that "MIDI To" is set to your Audio track.

Let me know if it works. Like I said it works for me. There's nothing weird about using the PC's for Preset switching in Ableton, if it works in AT3 in standalone mode, it should work in Ableton with the above setup.
