MBP 2.16ghz, 4gb of ram.
but it doesn't matter SL is always better as soon as you are on a intel mac, it want run on older PPC machines, that is all.
as soon as you are intel, i say it's a win, saves a hell lot of disk space, and makes the system snappier (especially wakeup from sleep increased like mad).

the only thing to make sure is your hardware hasn't any reported problems out there on the interwebs
so maybe google your sound card or controller specifically, but my experience has been great with a 7 year old M-audio interface

good point, my system runs like a charm as well... but i heard some drivers still have hick ups, yup.
the kernel panics i have reported a while ago came and went with the last 8.1.3 beta... now everything is OK again,
even people told me that it is apparently/usually either OS or memory related... well, whatever it came and went with live's latest beta i had... as i said,
all systems are fine again...

10.4.11 here. I'll be on Tiger until I dieger.
got 2 questions:
1) does live 7.0.18 support SL?
2) does the update from snow leopard need a total deletion of the HD and then reinstall everything, or is it just a simple update like i.e, from 10.5.7 to 10.5.8??
because 29 euros is not a bad price if it really increases system speed!!!!???
cheers

1) Had no problems with Live 7.0.18
2) Snow Leopard only offers two options: erase & install or reinstall.
With SL you can just install a new system over the old one. System components will be replaced, but everything else is left in place. Do a custom install & only install languages & printer stuff you need (I would also install QuickTime player 7).
Compatibility check:
http://snowleopard.wikidot.com/
Check your audio/midi drivers for compatibility first (10.6.3…).
Be sure you have a working backup (I still have a bootable 10.5.8 partition on one of my backup drives).

I own an original motu ultralite, but I can't find any info at motu.com about its compatibility with SL, my version is 1.15, and it seems there is no more recent update available..
anyone successfull with SL and ultralite?
cheers
