I found a link to your site on the GarageBand for iPad site, on a thread that I started. Very informative and concise.

I creating a list of iOS compatible audio and midi devices here that can be updated by by users of the site: http://www.iosaudio.co/devices

You can add and update existing devices with specs. Also you mark devices as "works for me" to get an idea how many people are using a device successfully.

I've seen the claim that the RME Fireface UCX will work with an iPad. I don't have an RME so I can't test it; but perhaps someone with an RME and an iPad can be persuaded to do so.
