Open Activity Monitor (Applications/Utilities) ->show "Active Processes" -> sort by CPU. Let it run while doing usual stuff (Live, internet …) & check, if something (syslogd etc.) is hogging your CPU - crosscheck with console.

Example: In Live 7, before 7.0.10 (or so) there was a bug in Live's Analog synth - when using Analog, the system.log was hammered with error messages (syslogd going wild in Activity Monitor).

For the Console log messages -> Google, Tiger forum… or post suspicious parts here...

When you come to the Albleton Live Camp in September.. You'll have to bring some of your nice Bavarian brew!

Anyways.. good news.. I asked on the mac discussions forum and got some help deciphering Console..

Turns out it was an error code running from the software side of my soundcard.. (Metric Halo ULN2) The software was the older Mio Console version.. I just got an update mail from them the other day.. So I've trashed and reinstalled the updated version.. So far (touch wood) memory leak has stopped and every thing's running 'steady as a rock'
