What's up with the Props???????????
Re: What's up with the Props???????????
Well, whatever it is, I doubt if it's as big as the Record release. They went through leaps and bounds to advertise that months before releasing. This is sort of low key IMO and I haven't even been innundated with email from them.

that's pretty much how I feel - Live 4 + Komplete 2 finally killed it dead for me. There was just nothing I couldn't do better or easierleedsquietman wrote:who cares ?
As a former reason user, they have done nothing since the launch of reason which has been groundbreaking, record wasn't exactly revolutionary and a payable add-on option they should have included with reason.
An iphone/ipad app - big effing deal !
I loaded it up on occasional nostalgic moments and quickly got sick of the fiddly little annoying interface - kinda makes sense they would port it to iPhone/iPad
I got a beta of Record and loaded it up once - it's bad enough trying to use Reason with all it's fake plastic toy knobs etc, but trying to use a whole DAW like that would drive me insane!

Sold my copy a long time ago, and agree, Komplete 2 killed it for me.
Credit where credit is due though, Reason 2.5 at least was the single most stable music app I've ever used.
Nothing came close. THAT, is what I reminisce about.

Live 6 ahem......version 6.0.5 alongside sampler and operator. I was a happy camper.
As for reason. I also ditched or once AAS did live instruments. Thor was good for what it was, but analog and electric got the job done for me. Sure reason 4 had mpc60 swing, but I was able to get my shit to swing anyway I wanted in live 6 and live 7.
I'm changing my first guess and going with the ipad version of reason 4. I'm sleeping in

Yeah, but I'm talking I never ever had Reason crash, ever. That's a lot different than "Live never crashes if I don't use third party VST/AUs, and two versions ago".v00d00ppl wrote: Live 6 ahem......version 6.0.5 alongside sampler and operator. I was a happy camper.

Point taken. I rarely ran vst programs so that's why I didn't complain. Except stylus rmx got the job done for me
Re: What's up with the Props???????????
Come to think of it.... Reason 3/4 never ever crashed. EVER! No crackles no poping... I can't think one prob I had with it. The app is rock solid. Something I can't say about Protools or Live.

yeah I agree with that - probably why they never added any kind of VST wrapper like a virtual Receptor - that is definitely where i get the most trouble with Live - I still get crashes with my Waves and NI plug-ins - although 8.13 is a lot betterMachinesworking wrote:Yeah, but I'm talking I never ever had Reason crash, ever. and I used to use Reason on amazingly underpowered machines - like Pentium 2 400 and do quite a lot - it definitely had it's uses, I guess the thing is they didn't move enough with the improvements in technology so that now it feels like a toy because it's so limited compared to computer power available
no doubt the closed platform is what makes it so solid, but that's also what stopped me using it

OK I know it's not going to be, but I would PAY for a version of Rewire that allowed both master and slave to host VST/AUs!
ReWire could easily do this, on mac you can do this with three applications running: MIDI Clock, IAC MIDI, and Soundflower or Jack, but it's not elegant really.

yeah that's the funny thing about Live 8's groove - I think it's one of the best features and while I do use it, I still probably do it manually far more just by holding CMD and moving the notes or velocity myself - I just find I get it the way I want that way, and it's heaps quicker than going over to the groove browser etcv00d00ppl wrote:...Sure reason 4 had mpc60 swing, but I was able to get my shit to swing anyway I wanted in live 6 and live 7.

Re: What's up with the Props???????????
It does make me wish I could afford a Receptor, for sure. At this point the only real issue I have is Automap, which is a PITA because I barely use it, preferring to have access to the track volume sliders instead of wrapped plug ins.alex.the.forge wrote: yeah I agree with that - probably why they never added any kind of VST wrapper like a virtual Receptor - that is definitely where i get the most trouble with Live - I still get crashes with my Waves and NI plug-ins - although 8.13 is a lot better

Re: What's up with the Props???????????
To me, at this moment, it looks like the countdown may be to May 28 and not tomorrow. Then again, I didn't see what this calendar looked like before today (so I don't know if there were more days on the calendar before - were there?).v00d00ppl wrote:They better show some tits tomorow or else I am out. 5am pacific standard time. The truth shall be told
If the countdown only started this morning, then maybe this countdown thing is just a way for the Prop employees to feel better about their work week - you know, how many days/hours/min/seconds left before the weekend
Re: What's up with the Props???????????
i think it's reason 5.
i think there will be 5 different countdowns, each one revealing a new feature/info.
