it definitely looks cool... but is it really for real? company info page:

it seems real enough, but no company address other than "based in Mt. View" and this makes me leery.

want bad!
if i had almost 3 grand to drop on a controller, i would get that one in a heartbeat.

can you imagine designing your own control surface that is mapped perfectly to live or reason or whatever, even to the control positions?

i can just imagine drawing a freaking malstrom on that dealy.

*wishful thinking*

who wouldn't like a backlit keyboard for those damp dark holes?

Cheap midi controller

Post by Der Vogelfrei » Fri Apr 29, 2005 1:46 pm

What do you reccommend me? I wanna use it for basic dj mixing. Then again I would like to use a couple of control parameters like at least two send controls and of course the possibility of not having to use the mouse to trigger soundfiles.

I could use the qwerty I suppose but I would like to at least control the cross fader and two sends. I read that link about using game controlers.. but what is your suggestin.

Wouldnt mind using it in reason either.

Imagine I have a very low budget. I want to pay as little as possible but could stretch if I had to to 150 euros. Oh the life of a poor man. :(

IMHO, the bigest bang for the lowest amount of cash would be an Oxygen 8 from m-audio. I see some on ebay for under 100 (btw, what is proper slang for euro?)

oxygen 8 too old and wobbly, get something a little more recent. The O2 is surely under E150 ? not checked.

An Alesis Photon25 is £99 where I looked so thats about e150 isnt it? they seem a lot better value to me.

Don't bother with the 02, they replaced actual pitch and mod wheels with these toggle switch things. Totally unusable. I love my Oxygen8, it really is a great controller for the money. And it has REAL pitch and mod wheels.
