I don't really know what Dubstep is but it can't be more boring hip hop and all that fucking rap bollocks.

if dubstep doesn't make you want to vomit... you're not listening to it on a loud enough PA.

I too disliked Dubstep at first.

I think you really need to hear a good DJ out at a club w/ a massive soundsystem to really get it. That's what it took for me at least.

Something about the hypnotic beats, and massive bass, needs to be experienced someplace where your whole body is vibrating as result.

Here are a few good tracks from the last few years to give you some ideas of the diversity:
Dorian Concept - Trilingual Sexperience: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vxuRr9QG ... re=related
TRG - Broken Heart (Martyn Remix): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e2ZjWiKQqV4
Ramadanman - Humber: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bFd63W_bTx4
Untold - Palamino: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gymne0J0 ... re=related

it was like wow! really impressive sonically, still i miss the sex. there is for me none in dubstep.

Yeah man, once you hear a good dj, good system - something clicks and it's like "oh, oh shit, wow, okay, I get it now"

That said, I agree - it's not a "sexy" genre. Check out the UK house, and garage resurgence, dubstep sounds, and production styles combined w/ 90s house & garage. Really winning for me by sounding fresh and new, but referencing the music I grew up hearing and playing.

Vex'd, Scuba, Burial, Mordant Music,to name a few all put out amazing stuff and have their own sound.
So you can find good dubstep but like every genre you will find generically bland artists as well.

Just saw EOTO last month and they through down some straight up nasty, grimey, dirty dubstep. I left the sweaty tent and felt absolutely disgusting... but at the same time really loved it and couldn't wait to get back into it.

They get a lot of undeserved hate IMO. Absolutely blew me away.

Like most art forms, there's a little bit of good, a select handful of great, and ocean upon ocean of hideous.

Call me generic, but (when done well) I think those wobbly bass lines are often the best part. Sometimes they crack me up, sometimes they just totally rock like a good rock song does.

PS. I'm experimenting with the new Insert Current Track Sig button here in Abletonia with one of the two songs in my "Media Library" on my work machine. Damn. We're web 2.5 now!

Where did you see them? Cause whenever I go to festivals EVERYONE shows up for EOTO, must've been a different crowd..

I think it's awesome that people who are into the String Cheese Incident still dig EOTO even tho they're completely different sounds, those two dudes are master performers, top of the line shows every time.

Intellectually speaking, saying "Dubstep is shit" is about as deep as saying something like "blacks are lazy" - the only statement that could possibly be more meaningless would be djsynchro popping in and typing "it just works", or some variant of the same, with his skanky little urine soaked fingers for the 500th time.
