Does the computer count? I mean, if you're an ableton user it's the most "useful"

hm... then I'd have to say APC40. I love my Juno, spring reverb, bass-station... but they're all for such specific tasks.

The APC40 really is amazing, really improved workflow.

any velocity sensative midi controler will open up a whole new world of sound with in live if your currently just using mouse and computer keyboard.

as a non player, i found the pad kontrol to be more than adequate for this.
