Yea I've always wondered what some of my mixes would sound like properly mastered. I always try my best to get it sounding half decent, but there are always things I hear that I just don't have the knowledge to fix.

Had a look at tarekiths site and am definitely going to be using you soon Some really great sounding mixes in your portfolio, and I have learned so so so so so so so much from your guides and posts on this forum. Thanks for that.

Well when it comes to Reggae Music, they dont come better than me. Hope I am not offending anybody.

I've been spending a lot of time in the studio mixing my last albums, sitting there with a top pro mixing engineer. Learned so much to actually be there and hear and see how he worked, and why, and talk about it, talk about the whole sound design/sound placement.
Also got the Logic sets from there, and learned by studying them more.
Now my own mixing has improved so much, quality and time wise. A joy forever!
try that if you want to learn, and Tarekith's option sounds good as well, since you get the live or logic files!

surely you must have some great engineers for Nana Mouskouri and more hipper sounding bands in Greece! Never played there yet, though know some greek musicians living in Holland.......
Even if it's not your style of music, sitting there teaches you a lot!

no way to do something without to move to an other town ... (capital could be an option)
but if i move then ill do it for an other country ...not just go to an other bigger town WTF ;p

thats defently the benefit when hiring studios with good engineers.. there is a lot of transfer...
can work even in booth directions.. you sometimes also can learn from your customer.
Some can have a good ear and strong style idea...
or when they share some experiances they had on other sessions and you just give it a shot .kills..

there is of cause the other situation wher you deal with bands and run in the classical singer/guitarist band internal loudness war.. sometimes they dont get your intention to have booh sounds big so you really have to send them out of the studio each while working on the others sound..
i wonder if that has died out by now with all the skilled homeproducers that play in bands theese days...

but in the traditional formats its pretty easy to know what a good sound should be like..
But with techno you have so many options.. you can run the drums without any highs for example and get to something cool when it gets theese underwater quality.

this could cause problems with a customer that is into trumpet trance..
they like the itch in the ears.. i couldnt stand that..

but.as a higend prostitute you should be able to choose your customers

its a funny phantasy what you would have to do if you need to mix one of theese trumpet trance tracks *shiver*... uahhhggg tarattarattarattiitititiitröttattrattartarta..
Is it possible to make something cool out of that? or do you have to do it as kind of joke?

..anyway..that was very very hypothetical.. berlin might be trumpet trance free as the sahara dessert by now.. allmost

just to clear that up..i had booth situations with experianced engineers as beeing a customer and as experianced engineer with customers..

I have also mixed and mastered lots of tracks and several albums from various clients (on this site and elsewhere) in many genres (from folk pop to full blown in yer face electronic), there is no shortage of skilled people on this site with great services to offer, even if some of us don't do this work full time, we have the background and experience.
