I have Rig Kontrol 2, but 3 allows you to use the board as a MIDI controller for your DAW etc.

self explanatory

Audio Finder from Iced Audio is just dead useful as a database.

ProManager is a sample management tool for Kontakt-EXS-Reason etc. It cuts load times of samples to near lighting speed.

Poly KB
Funny, none of these are that expensive, would be able to afford them all 2 years ago. Soon!

Nothing gear wise for me. Waiting for Live 9 before I buy anymore gear, because that will dictate whether I stick with Live or look for an alternative.
My wife and I went out this weekend and bought our Christmas present to ourselves: a Playstation 3!

For about the last year, this has been the only soft synth I've had the intention of buying. Oh no wait I recently bought the jupiter-8v and prophet-v again, but that was used and really cheap so it doesn't count....
One other thing that I htink I'm really going to like is the new tone2 electraX:

2 nice finds, I need to check out.

Maybe a little expensive, but these guys are a small group in texas, not mass produced out of China. Think Monome vs. Launchpad.
I would like to test one.

I don't quite understand the use of ProManager. Especially with Kontakt 4 having such efficient loading now...

All sample files consist generally of the actual audio and a file for the sampler that includes the path of the sample etc. What ProManager does that's entirely useful to me is allow you to say move your entire sample library to another disk and then redirect all the 'dependancies' to that library. So you open Live etc. and call up the song with Kontakt files from two computers ago and don't get a dialogue box asking you to find the files, they load like they always were on that disk.
Same goes for moving your entire library around, you can do it and not worry about fucking up dependancies. I have an older copy of EXSManager and it was so freaking useful this way, it will also search for duplicate files and erase the duplicates and again fix dependancies. Think about it, if you own Kontakt 2-3-4 you have a lot of duplicate files. That's all I can think of now, but it has other features that also pretty much rule. Personally I have a pretty convoluted sample library at this point, NI loaded K6 sample content into the Shared folder, other parts are in Documents, and still others are on other disks or in the respective song folders etc.

I want santa to teach me how to use my small setup (Live 8, APC-40, Echo AudioFire 4, CS-6x, MKS-50) properly so I can stop playing with my synths and actually make some music.
After that, I can proceed with:
new PC with a big monitor
MIDI patch bay
bigger audio interface
an 88 key controller/piano to learn piano and music theory on
Future Retro XS
KiwiTechnics Painting With Sound editor
A couple softsynths (Poly KB, maybe Alchemy)
Yamaha HS-10W
a good Yamaha FM synth (maybe a TX-(?) or FS-1r
Roland MKS-70
Roland MKS-80 rev. 4
Roland ROMpler module (JV-2080 or XV-3080/5080)
Korg EX-8000
a cheapish vintage drum machine (DrumTraks? DMX? TR-606?)
Might take me a couple Christmases!
