ok,
so i've checked out the prefs in the new beta,
seeing as there is a box to check labeled "mayonnaise",
i'm led to believe the Abletons are finally honoring my request
for a Fish Sandwich instrument.
YEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAA
eh?

Nah, I think its ok for them to charge for "extra" stuff. But updates should remain free.AdamJay wrote:$$$$
This is fair. If you don't want a new addition you don't have to buy it but we must not pay for bug fixes. We bought the program with the thought that it runs well and if its buggy we shouldn't be paying extra $$ for an update..
Yeah I would really like to to see ....
A) a suite of native Synth plugins - fm ,granular ,additive, subtractive ,oddball etc etc etc
B) an enlarged suite of native effects - more esoteric stuff also
C) the end resulting being something like (Pluggo + Live) rolled into one.
If that was the out come and all of it was integrated into Live as a complete all in one Package I'd more than be happy to pay a few extra $$$$ myself and I'm not exactly well off ( well actually I'm pretty close to broke) ......................

My aren't the wings of butterflies beautiful and do they not make wonderful perturbations.....
I would hope to see a series of instruments, as I always thought Ableton could have a very impressive suite of special , awesome synths..Cool but has to be special like things different then everyday plugs..
Like pattern sequencers, or special things that work special with audio and Live features..Not another TB303 clone..or Subtractor ..

DOes anyone remember a thread not long ago about something called 'Operator'!
My 1st Guess: FM synth / synth bundle - it's the only thing missing from the all in one complete package (the only thing I bring in externally from VSTi apart from fx - if they give NI a run for their money I'll be happy!
Whatever it will be..It should be awesome..
Ableton has never let me down and are a step ahead of the rest in my opinion..These guys are like the Roland of the millenium..
Changing music generation!

Since Ableton has been growing I've been waiting for new products. Now Live feels not far from total and complete as a live app there should be more products coming. Now it definately seems (or seams? my English...) so.
Live is famous for its stability (though it often crashes for me) so to think of Live as a foundation or base for other apps connected to it is a way to go.
The new tab proposes a new product line. Products that makes Live more of a DJ app if you add DJ products and more of a DAW app if you add prods for that and more of a Live app if... etc.
Thats my guess.

I hope the new product is not a "Synth" ... id be extremely disappointed to know that there are already so many VSTi's out there etc and there is only one Ableton Live... id rather see Ableton's efforts go into that one ableton live as opposed to yet another software synth or sampler or vocoder or rompler...

I know what your saying .....but then again there were loads of DAW's out there (and still are) when Live first came out.
