Bump, about to start a new thread asking for opinions but thought I'd drop in here too (despite it's age). I suffered the BSoD on my Axiom yesterday, I'm ditching M Audio gear, my next controller will most likely be an Novation SLmk2.
Done with cheap shitty gear that lasts 18 months, I want something that's going to last.

Which models?
Got my heart just about set on a Novation Remote SLmk2 for my next one.

Probably something to do with the first gen Axiom's then. Either way once bitten twice shy. They got my cash the first time, they're not getting it a second time.

Have a first gen Axiom 49, just picked up a 2nd Gen Axiom 61. My 49 is 2 1/2 yrs old and in great shape. Contrary to opinion, the keys are fine to play. Agreed that the encoders are blah, but fixed on the new model.

But what is the difference between Axiom V1 and Axiom Advanced?
Axiom Advanced looks like it has better pots.
Anyone know more about the Axiom Advanced vs first gen?

i have the axiom25....an older one. i experienced the BSOD once. then i started doing some switching around with all my equipment,it turns out the axiom likes to be on its own usb port. now it works fine...no problems... i was pissed though for a couple of minutes.
another thing to try for the BSOD is buying a plug for it, apparently the axioms eat up alot of juice, they aren't good for being usb powered.
another con is the manual is a hard to read piece of dookiee...its bad!!
someone earlier was talking about the keys and all....i don't think they are that bad....they are pretty beefy, and the velocity can be adjusted. im no professional...so i can't compare it to a pro keyboard....but it feels better than alot of midi controllers i have tried.
and the pads are pretty awesome too..they are more sensitive than my mpd pads.
all that being said....if i had a hundred bucks, i would buy an axiom 25 again.....but if i had 300 bucks, i would buy something else.
