I feel like there must be some option in Record to connect the new instrument or something, this Reason/Record interface is foreign to me :D

Everytime you create a new device in record/reason then in Live in the new midi track you choose which device in that drop down menu. each midi track in ableton can be to a different reason/record device

It's really cool cause once it is all setup it is almost like Reason/record is part of Ableton just a detached window

I have an Akai APC 20 too and when put it in note trigger mode I can play the kong drums or any other devices with the clip trigger buttons.

coolness 8)
Hello, yeah when I do this it works but the sound only comes out of the audio track, not the midi track. Is this the way it goes? SO it takes two trakcs to use? Am I missing something or is this correct?

Thanks Flashy for all the help

I think the instruments are capable, but I think the sound designers that Abes use are probably mostly into techno or something, cause I find a lot of the sounds thin and cold... However I have heard others make very thick warm sounds with abes synths.

On the other hand, I think Propellerheads sound designers are more well rounded. That's why even though I have the full Live Suite, I could never get away from Reason.

yeah the "MIDI" track isn't sound itself it is note on/off like information/sequence triggering the the midi instruments in reason. the sound has to be routed into an actual armed audio track

so yeah midi tracks got to be sending the midi info to a reason/record device then an audio track armed recieving audio from "record/reason" then you choose whicjh audio track channels from record are being picked up. it defaults to the master outs but you separate each track to pick up only it's devices audio

in record you route each device to separate audio out tracks
