10.3.6 had the most obvious problems with GUI and Live/Logic for me. People I know who are tech savvy, said .3.6 was the worst of the batch.sniffio wrote: thanks for the info about the 10.3.5.
Will check it out.
PS what was your problem with the 10.3.6 ???
Can you plz be more specific so that we can learn from you.
This sort of thread bothers me. I don't see even a hint of rational thought in it. From what I can tell this is an M-Audio problem, but people with M-Audio cards are making it out to be an OS problem?

it is an m-audio firewire problem...NOT the OSX..
i think that some poeple are talking about the 10.3.6 and 3.7 becasue the m-audio drivers dont seem to be working with the new OSx updates...
seeing that the all new all singing all dancing 1.4.1 m-audio driver is not even fully 10.3.6 compatable and they have released it bears sentiment to that fact....useless.
For live to function perfectly with an M-Audio firewire, we may have to go back to 10.3.4.
it is an m-audio problem, but the 2 are closely linked are they not?

NO!vince watson wrote:it is an m-audio problem, but the 2 are closely linked are they not?
Jeez?
That sort of reasoning is so completely self centered and narcissistic? Seriously this is your poll?
I HAVE FIREWIRE AND IM HAVING PROBLEMS!!
I HAVE FIREWIRE AND NO PROBLEMS
All caps is hard to read BTW.
If you know it's an M-Audio problem why paint firewire as the culprit? If M-Audio have yet to release a good driver for OS 10.3.7, ( for your particular audio card), then It is still M-audio to blame, and not the OS or firewire!
This is what I'm talking about when I say rational thought.
If I had a card that was not working properly, I would sell it, and get a new one.

hey machinesworking
1. the poll was up on the site before we realised it was an m-audio problem.
2. if you are telling me that the m-audio driver doesnt have any use, contact or anything to do with the OS then im sorry to dissagree with you, but i thought it did.
3. i am selling my card and getting a new one..
4. simple poll as there is enough complicated shit on here as is, no ones forcing you to make an entry
5. make up your own poll if it sooo bloody offensive.
di you fall out of bed the wrong side or something?

Nah, it's just about the third thread about audio problems with macs and firewire, and every time somebody mentions, "hey you guys are all using M-Audio", maybe you hadn't noticed that? So yeah sorry, not really directed at you.vince watson wrote:di you fall out of bed the wrong side or something?
Too bad about M-Audio, I can get a sweet deal on an Ozonic, and I'm tempted, but these threads have me wary.

cool man....
we did see a trend here regarding m-audio popping up all the time, but some of the users were having problems with mutu as well....probably not related to firewire.
its always good to be wary i think, even with the sweetest setup...you never know what the f*** is going on inside your harddrive....especially with audio.

The problem with 10.36 was lots of unexpected crashes...this of cause can be sourced in Live 4 but the fact that there was a lot of anti 10.36 rumours around and the fact that apple updated 10.36 within weeks made me to belive that 10.36 is a troublemaker... In 10.37 the crashing stopped
If there are some positve 10.36 experiances please let me know...
in the moment i am back om 10.35
regards
Sven
