cutting a mix into tracks for promo cd's???

I strongly recommend you do this in wavelab in their montage..even the stripped down wavelab essentials does this well, then burns it to red book standard CD, ready for the mastering house.

Easy way: with quantization off, drag around track (selection of your longer set)
-- drag this part to another track and back (this cuts the track -- important so you know where one track ends, the next begins)
-- click on the newly divided track, press command-J -- new tracks are inserted into your sounds folder. Done.
-- you may want to name the tracks with a numeral first, so they line up in toast (or whatever your burning program). Make sure to burn with no spaces between (Toast requires 2 seconds on the first track)

Go to cakewalk , they have a downloadable program it is 10.00 dollars ,it is called cdwave.Cheap and does the JOB.

You can use Steinberg - Get it on CD.

You can open a wav/MP3 file listen through your mix, it lets you put track markers wherever you want and then burn direct to disc. You can also cut tracks out in to separate MP3 or WAV files, add fade in/out etc. I use it for all of my mix CD's and find is easy tyo use and effective.
