I don't own Maschine, but I think that this is impressive.

got a q for maschine owners
can you chain several vsts, tweak a knob live of let's say the last one, and rec a circular automation, then one of the
first one ect? ie make a basic melody/beat midi clip then loop and rec several vsts automations, linked to that 'clip'?
if so, are automations all keeping sync, even with high latency vsts?
mmm i might be sold and pick one if that's working like this.

I'm loving how you can open and close plugin windows directly from the controller. Nice touch.
I've been wanting this for some time! It's a no brainer!!!

I really don't understand this argument, nor its rampant popularity ever since Maschine 1.6 got announced. But if people really think this way -- i.e. that Maschine is suddenly a full-featured DAW that can compete with Ableton, Protools, Cubase, Logic, etc simply because it offers VST plugin support -- then I guess the only admittedly snobbish conclusion I can come to is that people are using far, far less of their current DAW's ability, power and depth than I ever could have guessed, if they're seriously considering ditching it for a Maschine-only setup.

Unless you weren't really directing your comment at me but just using my comment as a sort of opener, I think you've taken me the wrong way. I don't personally think Maschine is as able, powerful or deep as Live. I didn't say anything about it being a full-featured DAW or even mentioned any of those other names. I said and I do think it seems ike Maschine is gaining on Live and my sentiment was that Ableton need to step up a bit. Because it seems to me that many Live users use Live for just the kinds of things with which Maschine is honing its skills.
For me, though, Live is more than Maschine currently offers. But Ableton obviously need to keep ahead of the game. Or, at least, keep playing the game.

Yes.

For each sound meaning one pad, you have 4 module slots. The first slot is the source module which by default loads Maschine's sampler. You can load 1 instrument plugin (with full browsing and loading from the controller) into this slot and fx plugins in the other 3 slots. You can also load 4 fx plugins per group as well as 4 fx plugins for the master. You can save plugin presets as modules and organize/tag them (they get saved under the plugin name). This also means you can browse plugin presets from the Maschine hardware.

When I first saw Massive and Reaktor ensembles load with all parameters automapped my jaw dropped. Maschine has turned all my software plugins into hardware! Maschine and iPad is going to be such a sick combo for hands-on hardware control of all software.

damned seems sexy. i could take a limit in nb as a good thing for me, if gain on workflow.
just more Q
Are you limited for vst parameters automations (for playback, for simultaneous rec?). how many lanes.
do you know if automations are latency compensated?

That's exactly what I thought when I used Maschine's brilliant time stretch algorithm together with its top-of-the-line inbuilt effects with multi-core support. It was truly a joy to watch the individual metering on every track jump up and down.

Really nice update!!! The automap works like a charm.

Running phoscyon in machine equals acid goodness. So easy to use! :D

is it really soooo great?

Do you think that in 2-3 versions more it could became a full DAW? (Well not really full, you know what i mean. Just to be able to get a track 100% out of it)

No. There is none of those features I listed. That's one of the reasons it won't "surpass" Live or other Daws. And i personally doubt that NI is even developing a daw.

I use Maschine as a plugin in Live. That way it really is very cool.

I haven't it clear yet. Are you able to record vst parameter tweaks
like you're used to with the native maschine controls? (red dot
around the parameterknob)

hey mr. lastman standing :D jk..... it's not that people think they can replace live or other daws with maschine that would be nuts, especially live, you'd have to pry live from my cold dead hands but it's more like they are saying maschine is extremely competive against other software and even hardware drumsamplers, grooveboxes and remix tools, which it is... maschine is the only thing that even touches and deliciouso has explained elsewhere surpasses lives session view. so don't worry you and I will be using live til we die

that is why they call you the Rationalizer after all
but I'll raise ya, imho those reasons are exactly why I don't use any program whatsoever that doesn't have timestretch, top of the line built in fx and multicore support and when I say none I mean nil. all I use is live, live only
I even stopped using my hardware because it didn't fit that criteria. you see
I have the power to rationalize too

I am waiting for it to work as well with Natives own Traktor pro as it does with Ableton

yep i'm with the rationalizer, I think they make a greatest combo combo, thats
two combos with a side of combo or one combo and another combo right after that or if I'm down at the pub a combo straight no chaser.
