They are landfill fodder - even HP treat them that way judging by their support policy with them. Then add all the OEM crap that bigs them down so much as to make them completely useless for anything more than web browsing and office apps and some fine print that says if you re-format and stick a clean OS on it, then cant support it anymore until you do a full original restore.
HD and general I/O performance in these level of laptops is generally appalling as well - even with a clean install of the OS for which they were intended for - the BIOS on them is often the real killer for audio - dpc latency spikes of 25000us not being unusual for many, and can be impossible to get it below 1000us even after alot of fiddling - ie for our purposes completely useless.
