It's kind of funny though how often I've put on Radiohead when I didn't know what I was in the mood for but felt like some artsy guitar work that's not too commercially rockin' and I think that will be the time that I finally "get it". And no.

I've even done that by a camp fire under the moonlight with a head full of weed and/or shrooms and thought if there's ever a scenario that I would finally get it, that would be it. And still no.

And yet I've done that for years and probably will continue to. I don't know what unseen force I'm trying to impress. Every other person I'm surrounded by at those moments seems to be in the same "I'm supposed to like this, don't know why, but I'm not going to question it" haze. :x

Truthfully I've been more anxious for the next Thom Yorke solo album over a new Radiohead. The Radiohead love/hate relationship goes as deep as Mac vs. PC threads. They make beautiful music & I enjoy it. Alot of people love to hate them because of how popular they become. Just as The Arcade Fire hatred will soon take place.

to me it's the other way around, mp3s are not worth 9$.

and besides, at 14$ for the wav files you might as well just order the CD and get the artwork.

The only RH album that I really click with is 'Kid A'.

I remember reading that they were listening to a shitload of records from the WARP label during it's recording. Makes sense and also Johnny G. was obsessed with Lali Puna(great band-Morr Label)) at the time.

I like primus and radiohead. But they're completely different to me. Primus is silly music, although interesting, whereas radiohead is emotional music.

Not sure radiohead's melancholic lyricism can be compared to Tommy the Cat's "hey baby do you wanna lay down with me, hey baby do you wanna lay down by my side, hey baby, hey bby!", even though it then bursts into slidey slap bass popping and odd funkness...

Just wanted to say that lyrics alone don't "move me" emotionally if the music itself doesn't also. And I think that's the reason I don't get Radiohead, nothing in the music is really making me give a shit what the lyrics are saying. Plenty of people approach music from the completely opposite angle….obviously. But I've probably gotten way more weepy eyed over an instrumental track than by anything I've heard from Radiohead.

If you put Coldplay on the stereo on one side of the room....and Radiohead on another stereo at the opposite end...and then put me in the middle...I'm quite certain my head would explode. Aren't they sorta the same band?

Coldplay is the bastard child of Radiohead and The Verve - but it didn't inherit any of the redeeming qualities of either.
