Hm I can see why people would want that.
But I'm mainly a producer and not really perform songs live or have live installations.
However, you can have send automation running in the arrange view that affects your session, just trigger clips and play completely in the session view, but if you have an automation line drawn to i.e. activate a send on the end of a 32bar loop you can totally do that.
but if you want a set of clips (with different melodies) to not have that send active at the end of the 32bar loop... you'd have to deactivate the return channel with a midi controller live possibly.
But yeah it's still not as versatile as having different automation in clips altogether.

There should be a choice of modes: ie Relative, Multiply, Add, Subtract and Absolute (which always overrides automation value)
If you are recording on a track in session view then all control moves on that track should be recorded as absolute clip envelopes.
Normal automation should only be recorded when the arrangement record button is armed.
That's how I'd like it.

totaly get you point and a enhancment is needed, but relative automation is really cool, you can modulate a parameter and shift it afterward a bit like with an lfo on a synth. I don't want to miss that. I would vote for better relative automation and better abolute automation.jasper wrote: .....
There's really no rhyme or reason for using the relative values anymore....
what I don't get about the current relative implementation, why is it not bipolar? -100% to 100%. there would be no need for turning a send to 100% and set it in all other clips to relative -100%... like in your example.
Re: Trash the PERCENTAGES/Relative Clip envelopes already.
You can work around this to some extent by mapping the parameter to a rack control and swap the max a min values in the map mode - so that 0% becomes 100% and visa versa. Then there is no need to change all the other clips.
