The steve angelo KNAS thing.

I actually liked the track before i heard the sample and im sure tons of people who loved and danced to the track will never know or care where it came from.

Its all about the end product not how you get there imo.

Exactly who cares how you make it as long as the crowd connects with it. It's simple since samplers came along there are no rules.
anyway gotta go............. bye :)

If aligning loops satisfies your artistic ambitions then fine. I make music for the satisfaction I get from making it, could not care less if it pleases crowds or not.

+1

As someone who occasionally uses both packaged loops, and samples their own, I can't help but agree with this comment. It made me laugh a lot actually. :D

Well I made up my mind : the one that says that only the outcome is important... I finally agree with that.

I compress like a mofo, I put distortion, I go out my soundcard and come back to ableton live in 16 bits... It's all wrong but somehow in music and arts, if the result is good then ... it's good !
Finaly there is something on earth I (we) can do "wrong" and enjoy it and actually the result is still good. So now I dont see why using pre made loop samples would be wrong then.

And also, you don't have to be manichean about it. If one day you feel like using a classical piano, you can. And the next day you hear a pre-made loop that you think is awesome, use it as well.
If I fart in a micrphone and that gives an awesome explosion sound, what's wrong about it? same for sample loops I guess.

THank you for having this great discussion and respect to each other ideas.
now go listen to THIS , it's AMAZING : http://tiny.cc/lznzz

Cheers

Make your own loops, be creative. Give the loopmakers the credit, dont take credit for it. You should not call yourself a full-fledged producer or musician if you use someone elses creative work more then lets say 10-15%. Because if its the music that counts at the end then be willing to say; Hey, I just push the buttons, glad you like it but I wasn't that creative, someone else did the most creative work for me.
