it's sad that this little feedback is all you'd need to decide on spending that much money. weakest gear reviews I've ever read.
there are better places to ask.

The apps are getting very tasty. It's hard to resist.

Don't mind it, he just likes to feel cool by adding pointless jabs into any apple related thread.
Somehow, in our weird time period, lame white males now think they're hip and underground by using Windows. It's their way of feeling like they're rebelling against the man, from the sanctity of their computer chairs, as if they're out in the streets throwing molotov cocktails at Apple cops who are iTasering innocent potential computer buyers before they can make it through the door to WalMart.
If he had given the same advice to someone to purchase a more powerful $1000 windows laptop over a $500 laptop, or expensive monitors over cheaper ones, he'd be proud of himself.

lame Landfail, calling non-Apple people out on acting like a cult??

wake up, you took too much kool-aid.

take it to the Lounge FFS.

because...
Music and Audio Production
Discussion of music production, audio, equipment and any related topics, either with or without Ableton Live
The iPad is getting very popular with Live users as a studio tool. The Lounge is for off topic stuff. This thread is in the right place.

The ipad2 really doesn't need a in depth review. I mean FFS, this thing is shattering selling records, and we all take that information for granted because everyone buys it. People say ahh your a sheep for buying that blah blah. And while that pertains to people who buy it just to have an ipad, that doesn't apply to the rest of us. Especially artists/producers alike.
TBH he is asking his question in the right place. He is asking people that will use it with the same aim as him. Bam flipped it on ya

my statement was purely pragmatic. Landfail's was purely a personal attack.
yes, it's a studio tool whose uses are incredibly unique, wide open and unmatched.
edit - perplex just made a good point.
why ask about it here? there are thousands of other places that are better suited to read up on it. I guess the OP doesn't know the web very well, he'll learn. I would not rely on a few posts here to spend several hundred dollars.
or just skip my post and get on with it FFS.

do you need defend your precious to the point of making an ass of yourself? Landfail's the one to go right to the douchey ad hominem.
H2O - I always have my wallet, keys and iPhone on me. I'd be equally lost without any one of the three. Rhapsody and Pandora on the iPhone blow me away. funny to have my phone crash on me.
Live is more stable than my phone.

I get on just fine, it's the state of modern man, all the conveniences with all their weaknesses.

the sad part is... each of these alleged conveniences bring their own suite of issues... complete with frustration, additional costs, fears and the need for workarounds and/or repairs of one kind or another.
case and point - computers don't make life easier.
laying in field trying to figure out what shapes the clouds are making or sitting on a dune watching the waves roll in... that makes life easier.

This is the perfect response dude, thank you, because the whole thing is ridiculous. I thought you would bite more on it, I was fucking with you the same you've tried fucking with me before.
It's in good fun
We're all using variations on the same theme here, mass produced computers made by underpaid workers in far away places. What's stupid is the elitism on both sides. What is new though, is the Windows underground elitist thing, at least new to me.
Overzealous Mac elitists have been on their stupid pedestal for years, but they were in the minority until recently. Now as a response, equally lame dudes get on the Microsoft pedestal, thinking
they're superior because they were smart enough to save money on their computer, or they're superior because they tweak more settings in the OS, as if these are things to be excited about.
I'm sure it won't change, it's just silly that people use someone else's products to promote their own personal identities.

This is bullshit and you know it. You just made a passive aggressive pussy post as usual to look like you're being pragmatic, which is pure bullshit, and I called you on it for fun. You've always dished quite a lot of bullshit out, so you need to get razzed from time to time.
Anyhow, this post really should just be closed as it's going to get silly now thanks to me and Tonedeft's bromancing.
I apologize.
