I know right, and I can't stand all these artists using effects pedals and microphones and shit. WTF. They're all so phony. REAL MUSICIANS use drums made from animal hide that they stretched over a piece of wood.
THAT TOO!!
And have you ever noticed how many songs feature a bass drum and a snare?!? Talk about done to death and zero imagination.
FUCK.

Just like any instrument Id recomment learning how to use it well. There is no such thing as played out. There is however such a thing as bad music, which can be made using anything.
It was as if someone shook up a 6 foot can of blood soda and suddenly popped the top.

I run it on a Send, and I keep another Send with a clean channel. Then I can toggle various instuments or sounds to either be clean, or running through stutter edit, or other fx as such.
I like stutter edit for it's sound quality when triggering fx. It's smooth and usually fits what I am trying to achieve in a sutble way. Where the Finger is kind of pop and clicky sometimes. However I like that too when thats what I want.
I like using tools like that to cut frequencies with a little spice on top, or to add color to random snare hits, or maybe a word in a vocal track.
