Hi phil connors,

if you have installed Digidesign's Core audio driver:
http://www.digidesign.com/download/coreaudio/
you should be able to select the Digi001 in Live's audio preferences.

Alex

I should but I don't. Like I said, I have CoreAudio selected as my driver and Built-In Controller (2 In 2 Out) selected as my only option for both input and output.

I just dont understand it.

Hi phil connors,

ok, some more questions:

1) Which ProTools version do you use?

2) Can you see the Digi001 in Apple's Audio MIDI Setup utility? (located under Applications/Utilities)

3) Can you see the Digi001 in the Digi CoreAudio Manager? (located normally under Applications/Digidesign/)

regards,
Alex

1. Pro Tools LE 6.1.2

2. Yes, I see the Digi 001 under Midi Devices but its not an option under Adio Devices

3. I dont see Digi CoreAudio Manger but I do see Digi CoreAudio Setup. Is that the same thing? Im asking because I see Digi DSP Manager & Digi Stream Manager

Hi phil connors,

if the Digi001 is not shown as an Audio device in Apple's Audio Midi Setup, the Core Audio driver of the Digi001 is not active.

I'm not sure if the Digidesign's CoreAudio 6.1.2 driver was included in the ProTools LE 6.1.2 installation routine. So you could download the Core Audio driver 6.1.2 and reinstall it.

Beside that I have no other idea what could be the problem.

Alex

Hi phil connors,

Well, I guess it is an installer so you just start it and it does the rest for you.

Did you check the specs for the driver/ It would surprise me if it worked on OS 10.2.. you may have to upgrade to Panther..just a thought, I'm not sure...

Even so I thought Live is compatible with Jaguar. I mean Im having so much trouble with what should be relatively simple. Its ridiculous at this point.

Hi phil connors,

Live is compatible with Jaguar but Live itself is not the problem in your case.
As long as Digidesign's Core Audio driver does not work right and so the Digi001 does not appear in Audio MIDI Setup there are no chances to "fix" this in Live.

Alex

Well, that driver is for Jaguar, but a quick look at the digi website :

"Mac OS X version 10.2.6, 10.2.7, or 10.2.8 software required to use the Digidesign CoreAudio Driver version 6.1.2."

No problem. Go for Panther while you're at it. I'm pretty sure the Digi Jaguar driver was iffy at best, anyway, a source of much swearing over at the DUC...
