looks like it's only playing on the west side of the Oakland hills. I did find a film maker Q&A time and location. not gonna post it so tickets don't sell out.
it's playing in Pleasant Hill
err umm.... let's see, some quick calculations regarding parking in SF, Berkeley or Pleasant Hill...
add cost of gas
divide by -10,000 (the parking space shortage in SF)
minus $4.00 toll
subtract cost of new paint job (parking in Berkeley)
carry the 1
yeah. i'm going to see it tonight at 7 in Pleasant Hill.

Pleasant Hill? should be a hardcore crowd.
that's why I don't drive, too much bullshit. haven't paid a bridge toll since I don't know when, Oct '10 to do a bike race?

yeah the Pleasant Hill crowd...

if i'm not one of the toughest people in the audience i'll definitely be one of the tallest... and my hat will be on the straightest.
the theater is nice and comfy though. it's my favorite one to go to in the area and the way my place is positioned i can be there and parked within about 10 minutes. i'll spend more than that looking for a spot to park in Berkeley.
get on BART, it's 200 mpg! there's a Pleasant Hill station

so i went to see it last night... it was tight.
all i knew about Tribe i got from their music... more so than any interviews or TV shows etc. so it was really an eye opener for me. if you like hip-hop culture documentaries this is one to see.
i found out i was at the wrong theater. fortunately they keep a little book with all the movies in theaters playing right there at the box office and were able to point me in the direction of the theater across the interstate... (so yes Tone, the people at the front can tell you a little more than you'd think). i was surprised though.. it's this old dome theater i had never been inside of. it was cool, but i was surprised... at first it was just me and my girlfriend. no one else was in this much larger than usual theater but the staff. then another couple walked in and went way to the back. right at the onset of the movie an old lady walked in and sat about 7 or 8 seats down and one row in front of us... it was this old lady that kept my girlfriend from going Alanis on me.

the dome! I saw Police Academy II there when the PG-13 rating was first created. I saw a LOT of movies there back in the day. big ass screen.
so y'all know, the Q&A with the Rapaport is Sat night, 7pm @ the Kabuki theater in SF's Japantown. tickets are still available.
