FYI, AdamJay and others -- it's not a huge deal (I'm no internet-feuding fanboy or anything, i'm sure yall aren't either), just wanted to clarify this:

Answer: No. It does not have a built-in fan for cooling purposes. iBook
does not create significant heat; thus it doesn't require a fan while in
operation. The little heat that is generated dissipates quite readily.

yea, those mac expo and mac world q&a's are always great.
what was the last funny one i heard... oh yea q&a and MWSF that was answered with the Mac Mini having 5400rpm HD's.

you can buy replacement g3 ibook fans here:

they are quiet fans indeed, but they do exist. and the cooling design did not change going to G4. all the dual usb ibooks have one single fan.
