Don't forget to try retuning your drums. Some quite weedy sounds can be made massive by slowing them down. Try tuning down a floor tom or even a bongo, anything really.

and if all ure drums are in tune they resinate of each other

Have certain drums playing the fifth of the root is even better, especially with bassy sounds. A great trick for getting a deeper sounding kick is by doubling the kick, and then pitching it down 5 semitones (which would be the first kick's fifth, e.g. if the first kick was a C3, the doubled kick would be a G2).
