Sadly this problem is still present in 8.2.7. Ableton reverts to default output instead of Motu Ultralite after every reboot.

Problem persists. Macbook Pro with OS X 10.7.3, Live 8.2.8, Motu Ultralite with latest drivers.
Live reverts to the built in output after every reboot.

I feel your pain. Have had the same problem with my Novation NIO. In order to even get audio from the NIO once selected, I even have to re-boot the NIO. Then it drops the connection to the NIO after a while - crackling then dying...At first I thought it might be a problem with the NIO but I fired up iTunes just after a drop out and it played fine. <sigh>.

Next step is to test it with my FA-66 with is a Firewire device to see if same problem. Will let you know.

same problem with :

live 8.2.6 + motu ultralite mk2 on macbook snow leopard
live 8.2.6 + motu ultralite mk3 on macbook snow leopard

all drivers are the last ones

the problem was not here with live 7 (we jumped to 8.2.6 directly 6 months ago)


annoying problem, but not that much critical, we just get used to re-select the motu soundcard on each time we launch live...

the new Novation 1.4 driver solved the problem (and many others). so don't blame abbleton for this. but i have to add it was confusing because novation denied that the issue exists on 1.3.
