Well, it worked! Track turned out great and it was snapped up for a vinyl release right after I finished it. I can't post it yet due to the terms of my record deal, but as soon as the release is out, I'll post a clip.
Turns out it's not boring, it is dynamic and I stuck to only using the note of C, across 5 octaves in total, for all parts.

It is a sad day so I will only play in D Minor
Good experiment! It helps always to limit yourself in some way and see how you overcome. Since you are not concentrating so much on pitch, rhythm and dynamics get more of a mental focus.
Another fun thing to try is to make a song where no sound overlaps another. Basically one sound at a time where you can layer nothing. Fun stuff!

You should check out the 'dungeon sound' side of dubstep, most of it is pretty much one note lol.

You dont even have use one note. you could save yourself the trouble and use zero notes like john cage. 4'33
