Hi guys, I know I will be upgrading eventually, but to be honest, there's no point spending on the interface unless you can hear the difference, right? I'd rather save towards a pair of monitors... Decent interface now, decent monitors next, then I can go pro-interface...

I was thinking about a pair of ADAM A7X's, so saving the cash from the Babyface I'm almost halfway there!!!

Wise decision, the Konnekts are not all that inferior to RME (accuracy, details, definition) as most people think (without actually hearing the Konnekts) and definitely superior to old RME models ( I upgraded to Konnekt from RME PCMCIA exactly for no other reason). Decade ago you wouldn't find anything comparably under a grand, and lots of good music got produced with less accurate cards. Investing smartly in monitors and headphones is even more important since their lifespan, "necessity to upgrade" is at least twice of a soundcard.

Don't dismiss Echo Audio; I had a Audiofire 4 for several years and loved it. Great drivers, low latency and the op amps are the same used in RME's units. Amazing performance and super reasonably priced.

Hey Everyone...

I'm just starting my studio and was looking at soundcards for like a month going back and forth between what to get....

before deciding on the MOTU audio express!!
I was hoping to get the MOTU Ultralite MkIII but it was a little out of my price range and this is my first interface, and I only need it for guitar, mic and a few other things right now...so I went with the AudioExp.(its in the mail so i cant review it yet )

I guess what I can add to this is that I heard good things about MOTU (and really on youtube DJ Vespers rec. for them too uged me to buy from them). Also Native Instuments, Focusrite, RME were top contenders

There are so many interfaces I didnt even see the Impact Twin really or notice it when buying(it looks really good though! )


so good luck, any choice should suffice because its all about the music anyway. Although I would just stay away from the under 200 dollar range interfaces even though they are tempting, you get what you pay for. But even so, they could get the job done!!!
