really don't like this rmx, nothing against him, it's just his music that doesn't do anything for me

I quite enjoyed that, but unlike a lot of people (forum lurking producers mostly) i've yet to get bored of his sound. Particularly like the bass sound that comes in around 0.25 in the track, i may have to have a play around recreating it...

Skrillex featuring The Doors
what a cunt for that.

I respect this producer's skills and fame, but WTF, "FEATURING" the doors?????

and the photoshop work with his face on the band picture....

if that is not pretentious...

anyway, nevermind

No, that's because he makes awful tracks with two presets, the same two a hundred other dubstep artists use

Which 2 presets from which devices is it he uses then? I am not a "fan" but I don't dislike him because he makes music. By your logic, should I then also avoid the likes of bands such as Metallica, Foo Fighters, RATM, Pearl Jam because they all use the same kinds of Guitars and amps? This is a funny rule people follow that when someone coins a sound, it cannot be used by anyone else.

Anyway, why bother projecting such hate. The dude will die of cancer soon enough the way he smokes and this period of musical style will be replaced with the next.

Seriously, every "filthy" dubstep tracks sound the same... And there are hundreds of morons now calling dubstep each and every electronic music track on youtube. I've seen a comment on a Squarepusher (come on my selector) video saying it was dubstep ffs... I've never heard such a boring genre in electronic music...

And you can't compare that to the bands you quoted. First, they don't all have the same sound, and second, while rock bands usualy use several notes to make an unique melody, dubstep consists most of the time of a single note with the rate of an lfo changing from wooob wooob wooob to wobwobwob from time to time.
