If I compare the music of Kathy Perry against the music of Trentemoller then Trentemoller wins 100 to 0 in all regards.

But thats only my opinion.

Is this the lounge?

Is this thread's title a joke?

"OMG!"

are you really astonished that a known artist does indeed love Live and say it??

am I really here?

shall get back to the lounge, or to bed

It’s another example of using a more obscure producer’s word to trump a more commercially successful producers word. Also producers that include a lot of bleeps and blips in their music hold favor here.

And I'm not hating on Trentemoller. It's just what happens here.
Does commercial success equate to 'quality' (whatever that actually is) in the music industry? There are tons of superb producers out there who nobody has ever heard of (relatively).

No it doesn't, but on this forum by default it's assumed any commercially successful producer who bad mouths Live is a fucking moron who gained their success with little more than a weekend Pro Tools certification and a fancy hair cut.

Actually I partially take the first part back. Commercial success does equate to quality on some levels. People need to grow the fuck up if it's Katy Perry or Lady Gaga they don't like. That has nothing to do with production quality value.

Some facts about Anders Trentemoeller, 2 Albums so far, first "The Last Resort", made in Acid Pro. The second "Into The Great Wide Yonder" was programmed in Live 8, mixed at a place called "Studio C4", obviously through a hardware desk.
His productions are amazing and this guy really deserves respect...just my 2 cents... :)

On some levels. Some artists prefer Live, and some are famous and some aren't. The exact opposite also holds. God forbid people being different and of different opinions, such as liking or disliking Katy Perry.

Can we all stop this "my dad is stronger than your dad" faggotry that's going on? :x

Nobody complains about seemingly "legendary music" made 30 years ago on equipment that would be considered shit by today's standards. :x

These double standards are killing me and my liver. :x

I think we should keep hammering away at this until everyone has the same opinion.

This!
Magnetic tape has a dynamic range that is roughly equivalent to 9 Bit...
Even today many artists record to magnetic tape (new Trentemoeller album was
played out to tape and back to the computer, too) and nobody complains.

this is because saturating the tape (feeding it a hot signal) gives you beautiful hi-end....
it's ususally done to parts (not the whole mix) and therefore no need for range..
