I'll see if I can find it. I keep getting it but always throw it away as I'm located in Southern Germany... I was in Berlin last weekend but didn't have time to party.am wrote:hey, thanks Format, you are a wealth of information!FORMAT wrote:12miscn1,
The Ableton HQ are located in the former Eastern part. They're not too far from the Volksbühne theatre (check out the Roter Salon to the left of the main entrance!) and Alexanderplatz, the "centre" of Berlin in GDR times. This square is a fascinating sight of its own.... you can still feel a real Honecker / Stasi vibe there, although that's vanishing too... This is my main reason for finding Berlin less and less interesting .... the atmosphere of the former east is disappearing in favour of malls, McDs and the like... but it's good too because it is becoming more colourful. The former East as I remember it was very dark and very grey, but all the more interesting for it.
am,
check out Kreuzberg, and the Eastern neighbourhoods Prenzlauer Berg and Friedrichshain... they're very interesting. And try and get on an "illegal party" mailing list to see where those take place.... they're great.
so, then, where may i find this "illegal party" mailing list then?

One address for events is this association;: http://www.freunde-der-boetzow-brauerei.de/ --- they do parties on a former brewery site, amongst other locations. You become a "member" (click Anmeldung) and are then on the mailinglist. http://www.deep-berlin.de/ is another site for party info. I've got an even better one but forgot the name, hope I can find it...
am, this is another great page ; it's in German though;
