bitwig price $470 (360 euro)

yesterday i was playing with the korg kaossilator, this thing is 399.00 and has actual value because you can make a whole track in it, it features an awesome design, you can touch it,it takes less than half the time to make a track in it than with pc software, and when you go to sell it you dont have to ask the manufacture for permission. this is the difference between hardware and pc software .
with the ipad on the other hand you can touch the software and there are a lot of great apps for low cost that make creating music a breeze just like hardware does.
and you wont even think about selling your license to an ipad app because it was so cheap in the first place.

also with current pc music software you still need to buy controllers just to get into a real music creating mind space, this adds even more to the final cost of creating music on a shit pc.

at this point i am almost done with computers. there is really nothing innovative coming out for pc's anymore. the mouse has always been a pain in the ass... its all about the ipad now, in the future it may be some other tablets but right now i feel pcs and software that runs on them are on their last leg.

so to add to this i will not be buying bitwig, maybe if it was 100 i would consider, but going on what they say the software does on there website i feel its far to underwhelming to spend more than 100 dollars on (and im being generous).
same with ableton, they are another company that is stuck in the old gimmick pricing for computer software. ITS SOFTWARE! people will never look at software as having the same value as hardware.

Mac performs like shit though.

im not talking about the mac. i dont care about the mac either. unless some one starts making something innovative at a reasonable price for pc's its over.

how i see it is all pc's (personal computers,desktops and laptops) are in thier final years.
within five years you pencilrockit will be using a tablet.
you may find a pc being sold in a store but it will be just like how you still seen crt monitors being sold in 2007 (they will be in the phasing out section)

i really do attribute this to the high cost of pc software and lack of innovation.

but if you hate tablets there is a bright side, in 20 years tablets will be phased out for something with quantum processing.

Why should that price be a joke? Looks reasonable to me, if it delivers all announced features.

Btw because someone was asking above: Live 1 retailed for around 250 Euro. There was no midi implementation and from todays view it was a very restricted piece of software with a revolutionary concept (audio warping, session view). But it came with a sticker pack and printed manual!

Yeah that seems to me the more reasonable price to get people into your brand new DAW in a now very cluttered DAW Market. I'm going to assume they offer a crossgrade price that's better or close to that. The price they quote is close to the typical $499usd most DAWs list as, and most have a $399usd cross-grade price. or 304euro

Also really? Selling vaporware? How fukt is that?

There seems to be little too much effort in all the Bitwig discussion without any reliable details available at the moment.
