I won't use my pro account option. I might be interested in the stats, but there is nothing that the pro has that I need over my solo acc. Very happy though that I have SC integration though. Fantastic update.

I was talking to a promoter recently who told me that most promoters now look at how many people follow you on Soundcloud when deciding to book an artist or deciding what fee to pay them.

I was planning to use it more anyway. The 5 month deal is great.

On a related note, follow me? http://www.soundcloud.com/synnack

It's more difficult to edit core source code to tweak existing features than implimenting online uploading feature.

I usually have to re-upload every song I do like 20 times cause I find something wrong with my mixdown.

quick question, do they ask for your credit card info when you sign up for soundcloud pro?

do you already have a SC? I just clicked the link from the ableton page and logged straight on and pressed "activate" and it upgraded me.

Always. But then again im not supriced realy. Getting used to it. Im following (and backing) the Wasteland 2 Kickstarter. At the current 5k+ comments page, its about two pages a day. (hence I havent been here lately :D) Theres always a few nutters on every page that dont read up on whats going on, nor reads the first page, yet still go straight on miss informed complaining and critisising without even reading the project updates. Some regulars keep copy-pasting their replies to these people again and again. Its like a never ending storry.

yeah...i have an account.... i just worry that at the end of the 5 months they will start charging me for a pro membership, instead of just ending the pro membership automatically. some sites are like that, its like if you don't cancel your "pro" or "free upgrade" promo period...you forget or something, they automatically start charging you without warning, or very little warning.
im always kind of hesitant about these kind of deals because of that.
although i am kind of curious as to what in soundcloud pro makes it worth $190. USD.... 8O

^ Nope, it won't automatically renew:

What happens to content in my SoundCloud Pro account after the 5 months are over?

After the 5 months are over, the account will revert to a free account (unless there was an already paid for SoundCloud subscription on the account previous to this upgrade). In the case there wasn't a Premium subscription enabled on the account before and there was over 2 hours worth of content on the SoundCloud account, the older content that exceeds this time would be hidden until the account is upgraded again. If there was a Premium subscription enabled on the account before this upgrade, once the 5 months are over, the account will be reverted to the previous subscription, along with the upload time that came with that subscription. You can check the amount of quota that comes with each SoundCloud subscription here.

Will the SC Pro account renew automatically after the 5 months?
The Pro account will not automatically renew after 5 months, this would have to manually be done. If it isn't manually renewed, the account will be reverted to free or to the previous subscription that was enabled on the account before the free upgrade.

Maaan, I wish I'd been more productive in the past, so that I had enough tracks to make use of a pro account...

The great thing about this, is that legally this now opens up the way to move to version nine since the risk of being sued for not delivering the 'share' feature as promised for version eight is now gone.
